Using chalk to reduce moisture / dehumidify closets

If your closets have a musky smell, it means that the humidity levels is high. Leave a bundle of chalk in your closet to keep it dry and fresh. The chalk absorbs the moisture from the air.
Discard it when the chalk feels a bit damp / not like "fresh" chalk.

Using pandan leaves as a refrigerator freshener

Sometimes your fridge may smell bad because of fish, meat or other food that went bad. Pop in a bunch of washed pandan leaves, tied in a bundle with a rubber band and leave it inside. It will kill off those odours and gives a fresh pandan fragrance.

Basically you would have difficulty understanding the tracking status from the point the supplier dispatch the goods to the postal vendor till the point in time it reaches your home country. Once it reaches your home country, the tracking updates would be provided by your home country's postal service handler and the language would likely to be in something which you can understand more easily.

Here is a brief explanation on the common terms used in tracking statuses for China outbound mail services.

Step 1

The first step is when your supplier sends it to his domestic postal vendor, you will see something like this :-

To understand this, there is two portions :-

收寄局收寄 means it is received by the mail handling agency or postal agency

深圳市国际大宗邮件处理中心 is the name of the local mail agency. In this case, it refers to Shenzhen. You may see other words in this second portion as it depends on which province or state your supplier ships it from. Common ports are Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing.

Step 2

Next you are likely to see a term like this : 出口总包直封封发

It basically means the item has been dispatched onward to its next destination.

Similarly, there will be some more characters behind it, indicating the port of departure.

If the goods were sent from a minor port or smaller province, it would probably head off to a major international port first. In this case you will come across the next step.

Step 3

出口总包互封开拆 literally means export total package mutual seals open (no meaning literally)

This actually means that there is an exchange taking place from the domestic port to the international port.

For example Shenzhen > Guangzhou.Usually the smaller postal players will handle the domestic transport and then it reaches the international port where it will finally leave the country towards your country.

When this interchange takes place, you will see the next tracking update as 出口总包直封封发 which simply means that it is onwards to the next destination.

This Step 2 & Step 3 could be repeated for a few cycles depending on the parcel's original dispatch location. The smaller province will take a few cycle before it reaches the major international departure port. Hence, some parcels take longer to emerge out from China compared to others.

Step 4

交航 literally means navigation.

However in postal terms, it means that it is in the midst of transportation, whether in the air or via sea to your country.

Step 5

The next status you will likely be seeing is that it has reaches your home country. And from then, you can probably track via your own postal service website for your parcel in your own language.

The trick is to get the cherries and hazelnuts to the extreme left or right columns and then get them out of the system by using horizontal striped candies or other combos to blast away candies blocking the exits.
Plenty of big blasting action on the lower half of the board would help to pave the way for the cherries and hazelnuts to filter down and out of the board.

Playing Candy Crush Saga on iPad or iPhone using another Facebook account

On iPad or iPhone, there is a Facebook account which you can set as the default such that any app that uses Facebook account to log in will use the default Facebook account to do so. 

This default Facebook account setting can be accessed via the Facebook option in Settings menu.

Naturally whenever you start your Candy Crush game, the default Facebook account will be used to sign in. If the iPad/iPhone is a borrowed one, you would need to change the default Facebook account to yours in order to use your own Facebook account to play Candy Crush and continue your own progress.

Important thing to note before you change the default Facebook account on the iPad or iPhone

It makes things easier if the original iPad/iPhone owner does not play Candy Crush as you can change the default Facebook account to yours, log in to Candy Crush game, then go back to the settings and change it back to the owner's Facebook account. If you miss this step, should anyone using this iPad/iPhone log in to any app via Facebook, the account used will be yours. If you don't wish for your Facebook privacy (or whatever that's left of it) to be compromised in other apps, make sure you change the default Facebook account back to the original Facebook account! If not, the next person could access your instagram account for example or sign-in to a new app using your Facebook account.

How to change Facebook account used for Candy Crush game on your iPad or iPhone

First of all, before you proceed, you should seek the rightful owner's permission to allow you to change the Facebook account from the device - this is basic courtesy. Then you need to log out the previous user from Candy Crush Saga. Go to the golden arrow on the bottom left of Candy Crush start screen and choose Log Out where you see the Facebook logo. If Candy Crush is not installed yet, go on to the following steps before installing the Candy Crush app (you would need the owner's Apple ID and password to install an app on a device that is not under your Apple ID).

Next go to settings of your iPad or iPad mini and find the facebook icon. Tap on the name, which is probably the owner's Facebook account. Another window will appear like on picture 2, tap on Delete Account red button to log out the facebook account the currently log on on the iPad. A new window will appear, choose Delete Account.

After you finish to logout, you will be redirected to window where you can log in your facebook account, just sign in with your own Facebook account.

Remember to turn off Calendar and Contacts

Under the "Allow These Apps to Use Your Account", select "OFF" for all of them if you are not the main user of this iPad or iPhone, otherwise your contacts, calendar details will appear on this device.

Now install Candy Crush game if it is not yet done so. If Candy Crush is already installed, go back to the Candy Crush Saga app and start it up to connect to facebook account, which should be the one you have just changed into in the above steps. Once started, you should see your progress in the game. Take note that if you had been playing Candy Crush using another Facebook account, you will not see where you left off because Candy Crush track progress based on Facebook account - it is important that you log in with the account which you have been using to play Candy Crush all this while. 

If you still see the previous Facebook account in Candy Crush, try to reboot the device and log in to Candy Crush again.

Remember to change back to the default Facebook account after you are done

Now, if you need to return the iPad or iPhone back to the original owner, remember to go back all the way to the first step to log your own account out from Candy Crush and to remove your Facebook account as the default Facebook account on this iPad or iPhone. If this is a shared iOS device and you will still continue to play Candy Crush on it, then do not log out from Candy Crush, just change the default Facebook account in iOS settings. Then you can still continue to play Candy Crush using your Facebook account while the default Facebook account for other purposes remains that of the owner's.

How to clear Level 455 of Candy Crush Saga

Level 455 requires you to collect 120 each of red, blue and orange candies. This is a naturally high scoring game, it is more difficult to stay in the game without having a time bomb explode on you than to collect enough of the required colour candies.

The difficult part here is the two bars at the left and bottom which is filled with jelly and is hard to reach. This level has a particularly high number of time bombs which will reappear after you have cleared them.

There are half a dozen of rainbow sprinkles that are locked in jellies to help you.

Always keep an eye out for time bombs that are in danger of exploding soon. 

The key to this level is to use the rainbow sprinkles at the right time and only when necessary.

To reach the rainbow sprinkles locked in the jelly, you need to use stripped candies. Be careful not to waste the rainbow sprinkles that have no more jelly by blasting a stripped candy at them. I would also not advise clearing the bottom row - where the rainbow sprinkles are located - too early in the game. This is because time bombs may cascade down and will stay there. It is very difficult to get rid of them once they have sunk to this bottom row and you are left with stripped candies to help you.

Leave the rainbow sprinkles untouched, if you can, until when you have a time bomb that is exploding soon. Make use of the rainbow sprinkle at the right time to save your game from ending prematurely by exploding time bombs. Furthermore, new time bombs will keep appearing for the entire game. Save some rainbow sprinkles for later stages of the game when you could not reach some of the time bombs about to explode.

There is also opportunities to create rainbow sprinkles within the active game board and if you can do so, try to match it with a stripped candy as it would help to collect more candies rather than matching the rainbow sprinkle with a colour.

Make as many explosive moves as you can within the active game board to help you run down the number of candies to collect.

You may end up with two rainbow sprinkles side by side. Save it till one of the time bomb is about to explode, then unleash the fury of clearing the entire board - it destroys the time bombs and help to rack up the coloured candies.

[Share] How to remove stickiness from matt rubber surfaces

You probably have some gadgets around the house that has this matt rubber coated surface that is now sticky after a year or so. This is common in humid/hot places.

Removing stickiness from rubber surfaces on headphones 

I have this pair of headphones and the inner sides of the head phones above the earpiece is made of such rubbery surface and it turned sticky after about a year in storage. After googling for solutions, I discover that there were various recommended solutions, so I decided to try this wipe made of 70% Isopropyl Alcohol & 30% distilled water on my headphones and it worked!

While originally meant for hospital and clinical use, this wipe is quite handy - good for wiping keyboards, mouse, even stains off the wall and cupboards. For parents with kids, you can also bring it along when dining out so that you can clean any dirty or oily baby chairs and also to wipe toilet seats or diaper changing stations before use.

Before using this, i resort to using talcum powder to counter the stickiness but it was unsightly.

After the wipedown with the alcohol wipe, some parts of the rubbery surface is now silky smooth like new while some parts have a rough feel but no sticky feeling. Beats the sticky feel prior to the wipedown. Perhaps one more round of rubbing will help remove the rough bits.

However, it may not work on all sticky rubber surfaces, I tried it on my mouse and it feels even more sticky now. I guess its the composition of the rubber that matters?

There are many different type of similar wipes in the market, especially antiseptic wipes, so make sure you look out for the content that says Isopropyl Alcohol (70%).

How to make the perfect Sunny Side Up

How to fry an egg 

Do you love to eat eggs for breakfast? The challenge of Sunny Side Up is to cook the top side of the egg fast enough so that the bottom side that is on the pan do not get cooked too long to get burnt. I like my sunny side up a bit burnt so that the edges are crispy but too burnt and you only taste the burnt flavour.

Obviously, judging from the comments to the video, it is still not the best way to cook the perfect sunny side up.

Some said that too much oil was used (especially on a non-stick pan), which I agree. Some bit of oil is needed so that the egg does not stick to the pan, but two to three teaspoons of oil for an egg is overkill.

Of course the spatula used on a non-stick pan should not be a metal one so that you do not scratch the non-stick or Tefal coating on the pan. It is good have the non-stick coating on the pan but not in your food.

A good idea suggested by one reader is to use a cover to "steam" the top surface of the egg so that it cooks more evenly.

My own suggestion to make your Sunny Side Up taste even better is to drip 3-5 drops of Dark Soya Sauce on the egg. You can skip the salt as Dark Soya Sauce is salty by itself but keep the pepper if you like the peppery kick.

Somehow, eggs cooked in any form goes well with dark soya sauce, whether it is poached, semi-boiled, sunny side up, etc. Try it, if you have not tried using dark soya sauce with eggs before.

An extra move booster gives you additional 3 moves to the game. Each booster can only be used for one game. A disadvantage of this booster is that you have to choose whether to use it before the game, rather than during the game when you know that you just need a few more moves and you could clear the level. Hence the usefulness of this extra moves booster is kinda limited. Sometimes when you chose to use it, the game board is so unfavourable that you will never clear that level even if it is a 10 extra moves booster!

That said, an Extra Moves booster does not cost you money as it is sent to you from your friends, like extra lives.

When you receive an Extra Moves booster from your friend, a pink ribbon bow will show up on the level to show you that you have available Extra Moves booster to use.

How to send or receive +3 Extra Moves boosters from your friends

There is no way for you to ask for extra moves from your friends. However, when you are stuck for a couple of days on a particular level, the game will prompt YOUR friends to send you extra moves. 

If you notice when you start Candy Crush, there will be a window asking you whether you wish to send Extra Moves booster to your friends - for eg. so and so is stuck on Level 132 for 15 days. Check it with a tick and an Extra Moves booster will be sent to your friend.

So do not expect to receive Extra Moves for every level from your friends, especially if you are "not stuck for long enough", so to speak.

How to use the extra moves boosters from your friends

Extra moves given by your friends are specifically meant for that level only. 
If you received extra moves from your friends for a level, you would see a pink ribbon before you start the game as one of the options of boosters for you to choose. 
You may select it and your next game for the same level will have 3 extra moves. 
Take note : you must select it before you start the game, you cannot select it in mid-game. The Extra Moves given to you for a particular level can only be used for that same level.

This is one of the killer levels of Candy Crush Saga.

Obviously so, in this level, there are multiple obstacles in your way -

1. Time bombs
2. Icing Cupcakes that need to be cleared to make way for more candies
3. Huge number of blue candies order
4. Wrapped & Stripped candies combo - wrapped candies are hard to come by
5. Tornados to disrupt your game 

Hint Guide Strategy to Level 425

Clear the icing cupcakes as early as you can

From the onset, you should be clearing the icing cupcakes as soon as you can, so that you can reach the time bombs and clear them before they explode and end your game.

Have wrapped candies ready

It is handy to have wrapped candies ready, so along the way, if you spot any opportunity to create a wrapped candy, just do so and leave it on the board if you have no stripped candy next to them. This is because it is quite easy to get stripped candies in this level but wrapped candies are harder to come by, so get them ready in case so that when a stripped candy lands next to the wrapped candy, match them to fulfill your orders. I find that fulfilling the stripped and wrapped candy combo is the more difficult to fill order for this level. While collecting the blue candies may seem like a tall order, it can be done, especially if you have a rainbow sprinkle or two that you can use it to swap with a blue candy.

Don't wait to swap the stripped / wrapped candy 

Do not defer the chance if you have a stripped and wrapped candy next to each other. Just swap them as soon as you can, otherwise the tornadoes will come and spoil your grand plans! Tips and Strategy for Candy Crush Level 70

This level may need a few tries but if you follow the tips and strategy here, should be able to clear it soon enough.

1. Firstly, prioritize your game. The first thing you need to do is to clear the locked candies as soon as you can because once that happens, it opens the flood gates for the candies on the left to cascade down and you have more options on the right hand columns.
2. Then, you should try to clear the chocolate blocks before they engulf the entire right hand columns. Should that happen, you probably have to try the level again as it is almost impossible to do it. Do note that once all chocolate candies are cleared, they will not reappear, so getting them all out early would make your life easier.
3. Since all the jellies are all on the right hand columns, you should make all available moves on the right hand columns until you run out of moves, then you look at the left hand columns. Remember, the goal is to clear the jellies and you dont have the luxury of moves to do anything else.
4. On the left hand columns, creating horizontal stripped candies should be your goal as these can help to clear some tiles on the right hand side once they are triggered. Vertical stripped candies are only useful when triggered on the right hand columns.
5. If you are lucky to get a wrapped candy, resist the temptation to trigger it, wait for it cascade to the right hand side where it is more useful when triggered. That is unless you have a perfectly placed stripped and wrapped candy next to each other on the left hand block, if triggering the combo can help you to clear 3 horizontal lines of jellies on the right hand block, by all means, use it! That said, a wrapped/stripped candy combo would do more damage if triggered on the right hand columns, so think wisely before you jump.

Level 376 requires you to bring ingredients down but there is a huge chunk of chocolates and cupcakes blocking the exit. There is a candy pizza that helps you to a limited extend.

The Strategy 

Useful combo moves :-
Wrapped & Stripped Candy Combo,
Rainbow & Wrapped Candy Combo and
Stripped & Stripped Combo.

Clear the pizza early, make room for candies to cascade to the block of columns on the right.

Destroying the pizza early in the game can help to cascade the candies to the block on the right as it clears away the chocolate tiles and help blast off the first layer off the cupcakes. Getting candies to the block on the right will then allow you to destroy the cupcakes. So the earlier you make room for candies to cascade to the right, the more options you have in your moves and you can start destroying the cupcakes earlier.

To trigger the pizza, you can only use vertical stripped candies and/or wrapped and stripped candy combo. It can be easier than you think because it is rather easy to create wrapped and stripped candies for this level.

The consolation is that this level offers plenty of opportunities to create wrapped / stripped candies and even rainbow candies because of the limited number of colours used in this level.

The Challenge

Likelihood of ending this level with not enough moves to bring down all the ingredients is very high. Do not waste your moves making unnecessary moves that would not aid your game strategy for this level.

It is inevitable that the ingredients will land on the top row of the square icing cupcakes, making it difficult to remove the cupcakes that are blocking the way to the exit. Hence you can only depend on vertical stripped candies or the combos mentioned above to blast your way through to the exit.

There are a lot of cupcakes to clear on each column before the ingredients can drop to the exit, so you need to expend lots of moves.

Draw Something 2 is another game which I play regularly, in fact, daily. I am always amazed by the top quality drawings by some talented artists which are featured on the gallery section.

In Draw Something 2, the wider the variety of drawing tools available to you, the better you can draw. To unlock the drawing tools, you need coins which you can earn by playing with other people and stars which you can earn by playing the Daily Guess and Daily Draw games for a 5 days consecutive streak to earn a maximum of 5 stars for each.

Daily Draw is really there to reward you with the coins and stars, you just need to draw anything and click on submit, they will give you the reward anyway.

Daily Guess, on the other hand, is more tricky. If you happen to stumble on one day's Daily Guess, you would have to start your streak all over again and the payout for the initial streak is just a few measly coins.
