[Candy Crush Saga] Candy Crush Tips : How to deal with Tornados in Candy Crush Saga

Tornadoes in Candy Crush

If you have played beyond Level 410, you would be introduced to tornadoes.

The tornadoes bring Candy Crush to new level of difficulty.

You do not have any control over the tornadoes and you have no idea which tiles it will hit next as it is totally random. Therefore, it is almost impossible to line up for any special candy moves as it could just be destroyed in the next move. To add insult to injury, the tornadoes not only destroy tiles by random, it also leaves the destroyed tile in destruction for one more move. Therefore, you are unable to use that particular damaged tile for one more move.

You cannot do anything to prevent the tornadoes from happening and it does not go away unlike real life tornadoes.

The only way to deal with the tornadoes in Candy Crush is to understand how it works and work around it to plan your next move. And here is the secret :-

After the tornado is done with its destruction, the tile remains unusable for one more move. Immediately thereafter, the next move, the damaged tile will heal by itself. The important thing to note is here, the tile that was above the damaged tile will cascade down to the healed tile.

So if you are planning your next move, take note of the tiles that are going to be healed the next move and you get an idea of how to plan for your next move. After all, the tornado does not come back to damage a tile that has just healed.

How to disable the tornadoes for 5 moves

Our reader, Mike, has shared an invaluable tip to deal with tornadoes. That is, with a mega explosion using two wrapped candies, the tornadoes in the line of explosion will be disabled for about 5 moves. While the tornadoes will reappear after 5 moves, many things can be done during their absence!

Reader Cory also shared that with the donut, the striped candies and the stripped/wrapped candies combo, you can also get rid of tornadoes. As long as the tornado is in the path of the combo it will be "blown" away.

If you know of other ways to deal with the tornadoes, do share in the comment box below!

Level 417 - Candy Crush Saga

In particular for Level 417 of Candy Crush Saga, you also need to note that the tornadoes have the tendency to destroy the tile with the pink candy donut once the jelly is removed. So if you are not ready to use your donut yet, do not strip away the jelly. But once you have stripped away the jelly, be prepared to use the donut in the next move, if not the tornadoes will likely do it for you within the next 1-2 moves.

  1. There is no way that this tornado is random. I can't tell you how many times where I am ready to make a key level finishing move and the tornado lands on the only square on the whole board that will screw me over. Really, a 1 out of 80 chance and it happens THAT often. I have read a report about ways to monetize Facebook games and Candy Crush is one of them. They get you high up in levels and then the randomizer will purposefully not give you the key pieces for level completion. This is to make you purchase in game items because you need "help".

    1. LOL! you have a good point there!

    2. I know what you mean. It's like the tornadoes know what I'm planning for my next move and they purposely ruin my strategy. I'm not about to buy any "help" though. No way. I hope the tornadoes don't shatter my resolve. :P

    3. Jett, the tornados have a knack of popping up at the wrong place at the wrong time! To help you strengthen your resolve, always tell yourself that this is "JUST A GAME".

    4. No, you're wrong. The tornadoes are not random. That means it's not "just a game" anymore - it's like playing monopoly knowing that the other player rigged his dice...

    5. That's not dealing with them, that's just accepting that they're there. The tornadoes aren't random, which ruins the game. It's like playing monopoly knowing that your opponent rigged his dice - nobody likes playing a rigged game on the loser side.

    6. it's true, everytine I have a good line ready to make a spotty candy for example, it will garenteed land on that very tile and in everycase it is the same. there is nothing random about it. there should be a way of stopping them, a mega move or something... but something as it takes the enjoyment out of it.

  2. I had two wrapped candies and was able to blast all but one of the tornadoes for about 5 moves. Then they all came back. The big blast is the only way I've been able to get rid of them.

  5. Level 410 was already an incredibly hard one to pass (it took me 7 weeks of attempts) and had undermined my will to keep playing, but these tornadoes have effectively turned the game from something that was real fun to play into something that requires pure and simple luck.

No skill. Just luck. And no fun.

I am likely to quit trying to advance, as I already felt the need to smash my screen once the tornadoes keep preventing any form of intelligent play.

    1. Yes I agree that the introduction of tornadoes might have lost the game some fans. The developers are probably aware of that because the next episode, the tornadoes are less of a problem and do not appear in every level.
That said, it is possible to complete levels with tornadoes, just that you need more time and patience.

    2. Don't give up yet! In case you didn't notice, the makers of Candy Crush amended 410 because it was too difficult.

They may amend these tornados (or at least change the algorithm to make them less crazy)

    3. I did notice that they changed level 410 on the facebook version not the app. Good thing because I was stuck for countless weeks. The same will probably happen with the tornadoes just to keep people playing. If they hadnt changed level 410 i was ready to quit.

    1. Somebody did mention that only the desktop version was amended, the mobile version remains difficult. I also noticed that the tornados were less of a hassle in later levels where it featured.

  8. Level 417 and I am ready to quit. I play on my phone and now I hear developers eased up on 410 on a pc! It is no longer fun. I have always been the leader of the pack in our friend group. I went back to lower levels as I noticed others after me beat my score. I have been replaying those levels to be #1 again....and I have been enjoying the game. I hate bombs and tornadoes. As another mentioned it is merely a money making ploy by CC developers to make things nearly impossible. I just want it to be FUN.

    1. it's ridiculous. there's no randomness to it at all, they ALWAYS land exactly where you were about to make the next move and get a good candy. Pants now. got this far and don't want to quit but very tempting.

  9. OK, I just cleared this level. The way it worked for me was somehow getting as many striped and wrapped candies over to the right-hand board. I honestly don't know how I got it to do that, but with all those explosions over there, it basically cleared itself. I hated this level with the heat of a thousand suns.

  10. I have been totally pissed off playing this level. I Have played 417 over 300 times. It is like those tornadoes know exactly what I was planning. I Hate, HATE HATE this level.

  11. 421 is the devil...and i swear the tornado always lands on the tile your eyeing next never fails..

    2. so utterly stuck on level 440. just getting ridiculous now. everytime - without fail - you set up the candies for a wrapped/spotty etc the tornado will ALWAYS screw it up. What a way to suck the fun out of the game.

    3. been stuck on 421 for over a week now, there's nothing random about that freaging tornado (just like the wheel I spun it hundreds if not thousands of time and never got the jackpot). I bought stuff before because i could BUT will not buy stuff because i can't complete a level that's just wrong. Every lvl should be doable without the help of booster.

  12. Obviously we like a challenge with this level we are all on, but this is just impossible and BORING !!!

  13. They have totally ripped the fun out of this game. Tornadoes, bombs, chocolate all on the same level! It's giving me a massive headache!! Not worth the frustration! What a bunch of idiots!! This went from highly addictive to extremely frustrating! What's the point????? Sorry not spending a dime more on this stupid game!!!

  14. I am amazed the developers did such a bad design as you can't even buy your way out of this level so I am done. I used all my extra charms and bought extra moves to no avail. The tornadoes ate my bombs waiting one move every time. So long candy crush...you made too much money off me anyway and the fun is gone.

  15. Good news, when playing on PC, when ever FB ask what you think of the LVL if you say boring it will decrease the difficulty. ex: LVL 421 order is 7 striped candy combo and after I said boring it went down to 5 striped candy combo. YaY hope this helps people~
